Location of eye/center : The center of the eye of Typhoon CHEDENG was estimated based on all available data at at 885 km East of Northern Luzon (17.9, 130.1).
Strength : Maximum winds of 130 kph near the centerand gustiness of up to 160 kph.

The hoisting of Wind Signals in anticipation of tropical cyclone severe winds is unlikely at this time.
The enhancement of the Southwest Monsoon over the next 3 days may bring gusty conditions over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland/mountainous localities exposed to winds):
Today: Visayas, Romblon, Occidental Mindoro, the northern portion of Palawan including Kalayaan, Calamian, and Cuyo Islands, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, and Camiguin.
Tomorrow: Visayas, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Camiguin, and Dinagat Islands.
Sunday: MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Northern Samar, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Aurora, and Benguet.

In the next 24 hours, CHEDENG may bring moderate to rough seas (2.0 to 3.5 m) over the seaboards of Extreme Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of mainland Northern Luzon. Mariners of small seacrafts are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea. If inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels, avoid navigating in these conditions.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
On the forecast track, CHEDENG will remain far from the Philippine landmass and is now approaching the period where it will be closest to the country. It is forecast to move north northwestward in the next 12 hours before turning generally north or north northeastward tomorrow. On Sunday, CHEDENG will then accelerate while moving northeastward towards the sea southeast of Japan. This typhoon may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday.
CHEDENG is likely reaching its peak intensity of 140 km/h within the next 24 to 36 hours due to marginally favorable environmental conditions. A weakening trend may begin during the weekend, although this tropical cyclone is forecast to remain as a typhoon within the forecast period.

On Sunday, the tropical cyclone will accelerate northeastward towards the sea southeast and east of the Ryukyu Islands. It is forecast to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between tomorrow late evening or on Monday early morning.
CHEDENG is forecast to maintain its strength throughout the weekend before entering a weakening trend on Monday. However, slight intensification in the near term (e.g., next 12 hours) is no longer ruled out. Nevertheless, the tropical cyclone will leave the PAR region as at typhoon category.
