TYPHOON “CHEDENG” REMAINS FAR FROM THE LANDMASS AS IT FURTHER INTENSIFIES
Location of eye/center : The center of the eye was estimated based on all available data at 905 km East of Central Luzon (16.6, 130.6).
Strength : Maximum winds of 130 kph near the centerand gustiness of up to 160 kph.

Heavy Rainfall Outlook
CHEDENG is unlikely to directly bring heavy rainfall over the country in the next 3 to 5 days.
The Southwest Monsoon may be enhanced by CHEDENG and bring occasional rains over some portions of southwestern Luzon in the next 3 days. For more information, refer to Weather Advisory No. 1 for Southwest Monsoon issued at 11:00 PM today.
Severe Winds
The hoisting of Wind Signals in anticipation of tropical cyclone severe winds is unlikely at this time.
The enhancement of the Southwest Monsoon over the next 3 days may bring gusty conditions over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland/mountainous localities exposed to winds):
Tomorrow: Visayas, Romblon, Occidental Mindoro, the northern portion of Palawan including Kalayaan, Calamian, and Cuyo Islands, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, and Camiguin.
Saturday: Visayas, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Camiguin, and Dinagat Islands.
Sunday: MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Northern Samar, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Aurora, and Benguet.
HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
CHEDENG remains unlikely to cause rough sea condition over the coastal waters of the country in the next 24 hours
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
On the forecast track, CHEDENG will remain far from the Philippine landmass. It is forecast to turn generally northwestward tomorrow, then northward or north northeastward on Saturday. Afterwards, CHEDENG will be accelerating north northeastward or northeastward. On the track forecast, the tropical cyclone will leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Sunday evening or Monday morning.
Owing to favorable environmental conditions, CHEDENG is forecast to reach its peak intensity tomorrow or on Saturday. As it moves further away from the country on Sunday, the tropical cyclone will begin to weaken as it enters a more unfavorable environment. As it enters a more subtropical region during this period, CHEDENG will begin its post-tropical transition by Monday.
